Requinto stormed home to land the bet365 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood for trainer David Wachman.
The Tipperary Listed-race winner broke fast close to the stands' side rail over the flying five furlongs, before losing some ground at halfway.
Jockey Wayne Lordan decided to switch the 6-1 chance to the middle of the track heading towards the final furlong and it proved a wise move, as his mount picked up well to score by a length and a quarter in a good time.
Burwaaz filled the runner-up spot, with Charles The Great back in third.
Lordan said: "There were a few horses in front of me so I just got him out and got him a bit of racing room.
"They're only two-year-olds and it was only his fifth start so once I got a bit of room, he quickened up and went to the line very well. You'd say he might get six furlongs but five seems to be the best trip for him.
"He's very straightforward."
Coolmore representative Kevin Buckley added: "They went terribly quick in front but he's got lots of speed, just like his dam (Damson).
"The faster the ground, the better. David will see how he is and make a decision, but he could maybe be one for the Flying Childers."
