Roi future excites Elliott

Gordon Elliott believes there are plenty more good days in Roi Du Mee after his surprise defeat of Forpadydeplasterer at Punchestown on Thursday.

The latter was sent off at long odds-on for the Star 'Best For Racing Coverage' Chase but, having been sidelined since January, was unable to cope with the front-running Roi Du Mee.

Elliott is not making any major plans for his charge, but he could head to Down Royal for his next start.

"Obviously Forpadydeplasterer didn't run up to form but, all the same, I thought it was a good performance from our horse," said the County Meath handler.

"He travelled well and jumped very well, so he should be able to pay for himself this winter, all going well. There is a second-season novices' race in Down Royal he could go for next, but we'll just see how he is during the week."
