Ruby: Faugheen close to greatness

Ruby Walsh feels the mighty Faugheen could be the on brink of history.

Last season's Champion Hurdle hero is unbeaten in nine starts since moving to Willie Mullins' yard and is reported in top trim by the man who knows him better than anyone.

"We don't know how good he could end up being," Walsh told

"He has done absolutely nothing wrong as a hurdler - he is a very, very good horse who remains unbeaten.

"He has had a good summer and has just come back into training, he looks really well.

"He is very exciting, he has stamina and speed, he's a straightforward horse to ride and a good jumper but only time will tell.

"He needs a bit of luck and to stay sound but he could be a history-maker."
