Ruby Walsh — who is booked for two rides at Down Royal - was stood down for the evening after a crashing fall from Muthaza in the Bellinter House Classic Mares Hurdle at Bellewstown last night.

Walsh and the 1-5 favourite were in front at the fourth flight when falling.

Two of the runners in behind appeared to stand on him as they came through.

Walsh walked to the ambulance, but gave up his two remaining rides.

"He's stiff and sore after getting kicked," said on-course Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Richard Downey.

"He should be fine in a few days. He has no serious injuries."

Walsh has been booked to ride fancied duo Bobarlee and Rogue Agent at Down Royal this evening but that now looks unlikely after Dr Downey's assessment.
