In-form jockey Shane Shortall is likely to be out of action for about a month after he suffered a broken collarbone at Down Royal on Friday evening.
The highly rated conditional sustained the injury in a handicap hurdle over two and three-quarter miles when he fell three flights from home on Rockshandy.
Shortall had been in great nick this summer, with his victory aboard Road To Riches in the Galway Plate the clear highlight, and he had won the main race earlier on the Down Royal card on Pires.
Alan Donoghue, the jockey's agent, said: "He'll be out for around four weeks, but that's just the game we're in. It's a shame, he's been on absolute fire recently."
