Aidan O'Brien is pleased with The Gurkha ahead of his rematch with Galileo Gold in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on July 27.

The Ballydoyle inmate chased home Hugo Palmer's charge in the St James's Palace at Royal Ascot as he looked to follow up an impressive victory in the French Derby.

The Gurkha was then turned over at odds-on on his first try at a mile and a quarter in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown, but O'Brien reports his runner to be in top form ahead of his return to a mile.

He said: "The Gurkha seems to be in good order.

"This is another test for him. He has come back well after the Eclipse and we are very happy with him so far at home."
