True gains deserved verdict

True Verdict came home by two-and-a-half lengths

True Verdict built on her promising comeback run to gain a deserved opening success in the Come Racing On June 8th Maiden at Navan.

David Wachman's Danehill Dancer filly produced several creditable efforts in defeat as a juvenile, including when second to Sendmylovetorose in a Group Three, and was sent off 2-1 under Wayne Lordan following a recent third at the Curragh.

Lordan had his mount settled in behind the early leaders and after producing her with a furlong and a half to race, she shot clear to beat the staying-on favourite Wexford Opera by two-and-a-half lengths.

Lordan said: "She travelled well and went to the line well. I thought the trip might have been a bit sharp for her but she picked up and she was entitled to do what she did.

"The ground is nice and it's on the better side of yielding which was a plus for her."
