Tyrella: Simonsberg should win but not an Open and shut case

Simonsberg, trained by Ian Ferguson, is selected for the Open Race at East Down Point to Point at Tyrella tomorrow (12 noon).

Simonsberg has had two wins in his most recent career and should follow up for the Ballymena trainer.

Aces Or Better, trained by Graham McKeever, will be one of the dangers along with St Matthew, trained by Liam Lennon.

It looks as though there will be a number of divisions at the meeting — hence the early start — and apart from the Open Race there is a race for winners of two in which Wilson Dennison may have the answer with Scilly Isles who should beat Flying Pencil, trained by Gordon Elliott.

Meanwhile, King Fingal can maintain a sharp ascent by collecting his division of the skybet.com Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster today.

The six-year-old is held in quite a bit of regard by his connections and has certainly made pleasing progress over hurdles. His recent success at Musselburgh neatly illustrated that fact.
