Charlie's Vic got on top close home to claim the ITBA Fillies Scheme EBF Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase at Limerick.

Dazzling Susie cut out much of the running in the two-mile-six-furlong Grade Three, but she was a spent force rounding the home turn as Avondhu Lady took over.

Dangan Daylight loomed up to challenge, but Avondhu Lady had seen her off jumping the final fence - only for Charlie's Vic (5-1) to reel her in on the run-in and get up by a neck under a fine ride from Derek Fox.

Winning trainer Noel Kelly said: "The plan was to run in this race after she won her beginners' chase.

"She jumped well and she probably needs three miles, even though she is only a six-year-old.

"Fairyhouse is only two weeks away and that might be a bit sharp for her.

"It took five hours to get down here (from County Derry) and she was fed at 4am this morning."
