Video: Paddy Power advert shows 'Chav Tranquiliser' assassin at Cheltenham Festival
Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has caused controversy with a new advert showing a hitman shooting Cheltenham racegoers with a dart gun.
The 'Chav Tranquiliser' features a man loading a dart gun before firing at fake-tanned women and beer-swilling louts in an effort to rid Cheltenham of 'chavs'.
The adertisement is is presented as being in response to a fan who wrote 'Hope the chavs don't ruin Cheltenham like they did Ascot' on the Paddy Power Facebook page.
Last year's Ascot Ladies Day saw a drunken brawl break out among punters at the meeting.
It is not the first time the bookmaker has found itself in hot water. Last week the firm’s controversial Ladies Day advert - featuring transgendered actresses - was pulled from UK television.
In September 2010 the company also erected a huge Hollywood-style sign beside Celtic Manor Golf Course for the Ryder Cup, which was later dismantled after complaints from the owner of the course.
