AIL Division Three: Devitt returns to keep Instonians' great run going

Instonians and City of Derry continue to fight it out at the top of AIL Division Three as both enjoyed narrow wins.

Inst are the only unbeaten side in the division and have a two point lead over the Judges Road outfit, Clem Boyd's side making it five wins out of five by beating Naas 20-13 in a tight encounter at Shaw's Bridge.

Winger Josh Devitt marked his return from injury by getting two of the home side's three tries with Steven Douglas claiming the other touch down.

City of Derry scored two tries in the last six minutes in Cork to beat Sunday's Well 14-9.

Bevan Lynch's side were without suspended prop Sam Duffy and fought themselves trailing |9-0 after 46 minutes.

William McCleary went over for a try which Richard Peoples converted before winger Jack Caithness went over in injury time for a converted try to win it for Derry.

Banbridge moved into the top four with a 38-15 bonus point win over Wanderers in Dublin.

The Rifle Park club secured the bonus point with tries from Ryan Patterson, Simon McKinstry and Johnny Andrews.

Ards and Rainy both secured their first wins of the season, a late penalty from Jason Morgan giving Ards a 28-25 victory over Navan at Hamilton Park while Rainey remain second bottom despite a 28-22 win at Hatrick Park against Greystones.

Mark O'Connor kicked 13 points for the Old Boys and they scored three tries from Rodney Paul, Richard McCrea and Colm Heaney.
