Argentina win sees France slip to ninth in world rankings
Argentina beat France 30-19 after an impressive three-try display in Tucuman.
Wing Manuel Montero and full-back Joaquin Tuculet crossed in the first half, Nicolas Sanchez converting both scores.
France hooker Remy Bonfils' try, converted by Jules Plisson who had earlier traded penalties with Sanchez, made it 17-10 at half-time and three more Plisson kicks briefly took Les Bleus ahead at 19-17.
But Sanchez responded with two penalties and lock Guido Petti Pagadizaval's converted try made victory secure.
Defeat drops France to ninth in the world rankings and facing the prospect of dropping into the third seeding pot for the 2019 World Cup draw, although they have until May to rectify that situation.
