Ravenhill hosting glamour friendlies

Ulster will kick off the 2008-09 season with two home friendly fixtures against English Premiership sides Bath and the Worcester Warriors next month.

Matt Williams' new-look squad will host Bath on Friday, August 15 (7.30pm), the side that finished third in the Guinness Premiership in May, as well as winning the European Challenge Cup, securing the club's place in the Heineken Cup.

With former Ulster captain Justin Harrison having recently moved to the south west club, his immediate return to Ravenhill is sure to add extra spice.

The Bath side boasts British and Irish Lion lock Danny Grewcock as well as England stars Lee Mears and Matt Stevens as well as South African fly-half Butch James.

The second friendly is on Wednesday August 27 (7.30pm), with Mike Ruddock's Worcester Warriors making their first visit to Ravenhill. The ambitious side, captained by English back rower Pat Sanderson, were defeated in the European Challenge Cup final by Bath and will be out to prove themselves against Ulster.

With new signing Australia full-back Chris Latham due to arrive in July, Ulster supporters could be in for some world class action at Ravenhill.

Tickets go on general sale from July 28 and will be available to all supporters over the phone, online at www.ulsterrugby.com and at SS Moores in Chichester Street, Belfast.
