Baa-Baas call up Springbok duo

The Barbarians have recruited South Africa internationals Francois Steyn and Ruan Pienaar among a host of star names to face England at Twickenham on May 29.

The Springboks will be joined by former Australia flanker George Smith and ex-New Zealand prop Carl Hayman plus Italy's inspirational captain Sergio Parisse.

Former England internationals Paul Sackey and Iain Balshaw, both currently playing their club rugby in France, will also turn out for the Barbarians alongside France centre Mathieu Bastareaud.

England manager Martin Johnson will use the Barbarians game and the Churchill Cup that follows as an opportunity to finalise his 50-man Rugby World Cup training squad, which will be named on June 17.

One of those Johnson has indicated could feature against the Barbarians is Matt Stevens, who has returned to form for Saracens after serving a two-year drugs ban.
