Bath to increase Rec capacity

Bath have been given permission to increase the capacity of the Recreation Ground to close to 14,000 for the next two seasons.

The club's temporary planning application, made in preparation for their 150th anniversary next year, has been approved by the council and lift attendances from the current limit of 12,000.

"This extra capacity will allow more people to get closer to the action during a landmark year in our history," Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld said.
