All Blacks fly-half Beauden Barrett scored 22 points to guide the improving Hurricanes to a 42-20 bonus-point victory over the Kings at Westpac Stadium.

Barrett went over for the last of his side's five tries as well as slotting over three penalties and four conversions. The Hurricanes' other tries came from Ngani Laumape, Ardie Savea, Blade Thomson and Vince Aso as the Wellington outfit made it three wins on the trot since losing their opening two matches.

The Kings, who only trailed 25-20 heading into the final 11 minutes, replied through tries from Louis Fouche and captain Steven Sykes - on his 100th Super Rugby appearance - but could not avoid a fourth successive defeat, a run in which they have conceded at least 40 points on each occasion.
