Best in line for Ulster gong

Ireland hooker Rory Best, Tommy Bowe and Matt McCullough have been nominated for the Ulster Player of the Year Award.

The trio will battle it out for the prestigious gong at the Guinness Ulster Rugby Awards dinner at La Mon House Hotel on May 15

The ceremony brings together the cream of the crop in Ulster.

While the top award, the Guinness Ulster Personality of the Year will only be revealed on the night, all the nominees for the other awards have been released.

Belfast Harlequins out-half Niall O'Connor is among the running for the Vodafone Young Ulster Player of the Year along with Malone's Mark McCrea and Dungannon's David Pollock.

Armagh, Letterkenny and Portadown will do battle for the Kukri Club of the Year while Adam Telford (Instonians), Craig Woods (Ballymena), Ian Porter (Queens) have been nominated for Club Player of the Year.

The Belfast Telegraph Merit Award will also be announced on the night.
