Braid named as Sharks skipper

Former New Zealand flanker Dan Braid has been appointed the new captain of Sale Sharks.

Braid joined the club on January 1 and made a big impact in the club's successful battle against relegation, scoring three tries in his 12 appearances.

The 32-year-old has taken over the leadership role from fellow loose forward David Seymour.

Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond said: "Dan is not only a great player, he is a natural leader and is very popular amongst the squad we have assembled at Sale Sharks for the coming season."
