Brown keeps focus on next game

Kelly Brown is refusing to get carried away by Scotland's form

Scotland captain Kelly Brown is not allowing thoughts of an unprecedented RBS 6 Nations hat-trick distract him or his team-mates from the task in hand when they host Wales on Saturday.

Scotland have not won three successive games in the tournament since 1996 when it was the Five Nations but successive wins over Italy and Ireland have given them a chance of remaining in the title race ahead of their final match, against France in Paris.

"It's more a case of just looking forward to the next game," Brown said.

"We are playing the reigning Grand Slam champions. They are going for their fifth consecutive away win in the championship.

"It's an incredibly tough challenge but it's one that I am confident that if we get our basic skills right and get our performance at a level that we need to, we can put them under pressure.

"We are just looking forward to getting out there on Saturday and doing that.

Brown believes champions Wales will pose Scotland's most difficult test of the Six Nations campaign so far.

Brown said: "If you look at their squad, it's absolutely filled with Lions and world-class players.

"I would say it will be our toughest challenge in the championship so far but as a sportsman you want to be challenged by the top teams and there is no doubt Wales are one of those."
