Bulls snatch last-gasp win

The NSW Waratahs' Super 15 finals hopes are in tatters after suffering a 27-24 loss to the high-flying Bulls in a keenly-fought contest at Allianz Stadium.

Both sides traded tries in the first half, but it was the Waratahs who dominated possession and went into the break 13-10 in front.

The Bulls were first to cross the chalk in the second period when winger Akona Ndungane scored close to the hour to edge his side in front 17-16, but the hosts responded swiftly through flyer Atieli Pakalani to regain the advantage. The Pretoria-based unit refused to panic, though, eventually grabbing the match-winner in the 78th minute through prop Werner Kruger.

The Lions, meanwhile, look destined to finish bottom of the Super Rugby table this season after they were beaten 25-3 by the Blues.
