Cardiff Blues have announced the signing of former Northampton prop Salesi Ma'afu.

The 32-year-old Australia international will join the Blues from reigning European champions Toulon.

Ma'afu has won 14 caps and was part of Australia's 2011 World Cup squad.

Blues head coach Danny Wilson said: "S alesi is a powerful prop forward who will add to our set-piece and enhance the front-row options within the squad.

"He has a fantastic pedigree in the game, having won the English title and European honours during his successful time with Northampton, and he is very keen to join Cardiff Blues and make a big impression at the region."
