Former Australia great Mark Ella has warned the current side not to get too excited about their World Cup prospects despite a record win over France at the weekend.
Ella was less than impressed with Les Bleus as the Wallabies ran in 46 second-half points to register a 59-16 win in Paris.
"I'd like to say yes (Australia can win the World Cup) but I probably wouldn't read too much into it," Ella told Sky Sports Radio on Monday.
"(France) picked a big side with no talent or brains at all.
"We beat Wales on the spring tour last year and everybody was raving how good the Wallabies were and then we had a dismal Tri-Nations.
"Up until (the France Test) this spring tour was looking very much the same.
"This side's been so up and down. I'd like to say they can (win the World Cup) - and I sincerely hope they do. But they've got to deliver week in, week out, not once a month."
