Cowan-Dickie pens new deal

Luke Cowan-Dickie has committed his future to Exeter

Hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie has signed a contract extension with Exeter to commit to Sandy Park until 2017.

The 20-year-old Cornishman, who helped England Under-20s to Junior World Championship glory last year, was thrilled.

"I'm really happy because it's always good to know you are wanted at a club," he said.

"I had another year left on my last contract, but Rob (Baxter, the Exeter head coach) called me in, he spoke to my agent, and now this is a great opportunity for me to move forward with the Chiefs.

"This year has been really good for me in a lot of ways, but I know I still have lots to do.

"The move up from playing Championship to Premiership was massive, but it's good as it keeps me working hard.

"Nowellsy (wing Jack Nowell) has led the way, but it shows that you can go from being in the academy into the Premiership and then on to playing for England."
