Down High School finish on a high

Royal School Armagh entertained Down High School at the weekend in a fixture which saw the hosts suffer their first loss of the season.

Daniel Stanfield ran in an early unconverted try for the visitors, with Toni Rush adding another and Luca Rea landing a penalty to secure a 13-0 lead at the interval.

John Dunne ran in a try for Armagh with Matthew Hooks adding the extras, but it wasn’t enough as the visitors claimed a 13-7 victory.

Banbridge Academy welcomed Portora Royal School, with the home team the first to score via Paddy Hayes, who also added the conversion. Matthew Best, Matthew Armstrong, Rory Thompson and Gareth Liggett (2) all touched down for the hosts with Hayes adding two more conversions to claim a 36-7 win.

Omagh Academy celebrated a 47-7 away victory over Carrickfergus Grammar.
