Dungannon reach last four

Dungannon qualified for the semi-finals of the First Trust Senior Cup with a convincing 41-22 victory over Banbridge at Stevenson Park.

With an abundance of possession they took a 33-15 half-time advantage.

They had tries from Conor Gaston(2), Timothy Smith(2), Glenn Cinnamond, and Craig Gilroy, while Johnny Shiells had four conversions and a penalty.

Banbridge, who were far from full strength, managed three tries from Matthew Irvine, Ryan Patterson and John Weir.

Neville Farr converted two and had a conversion for the Co Down side.

Instonians had also reached the semi-final stage with a 42-17 win over Ards on Thursday evening.

The other two quarter-finals will be contested this afternoon when Rainey Old Boys and Malone clash in Magherafelt while in-form Queens have a derby encounter with Belfast Harlequins.
