Edinburgh forward Nasi Manu has dropped out of the squad through injury as Alan Solomons made five changes for the visit of Scarlets.

Number eight Manu has injured his ribs and misses Friday night's Guinness PRO12 encounter at Murrayfield. Magnus Bradbury takes his place.

John Hardie also comes into the back row in place of Hamish Watson while lock Ben Toolis is promoted from the bench at the expense of Fraser McKenzie.

In the back line, winger Michael Allen and inside-centre Phil Burleigh start ahead of Rory Scholes and Solomoni Rasolea.

Scotland international Kevin Bryce could make his competitive debut off the bench as Edinburgh bid to bounce back from their opening-day defeat by Cardiff.

Solomons said: "The players are all looking forward to playing at home and are relishing the challenge that the Scarlets will present."
