Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons has made eight alterations to his starting line-up as his side bid to make amends against London Irish.

Solomons has rung the changes following last weekend's 38-6 European Challenge Cup defeat in Reading.

Damien Hoyland, Matt Scott, Phil Burleigh and Sam Hidalgo-Clyne come into the backs division and Ross Ford, WP Nel, Mike Coman and John Hardie are restored to the pack for the Murrayfield encounter.

Solomons said: "We played poorly last week and need to put matters right this weekend."

Edinburgh sit third in Pool Five at the halfway stage after winning their opening two games.
