England game will survive freeze

The Rugby Football Union have vowed Saturday's England v South Africa Test will go ahead at Twickenham despite the current sub-zero temperatures.

Freezing conditions have already cast doubt over the weekend's sporting programme, however, the RFU have sought to pre-empt concerns about Saturday's Investec International by releasing a statement to media.

It said: "Covers are being placed over the playing surface at Twickenham Stadium, which will ensure that it remains in excellent condition and that the Investec Internationals England v South Africa fixture will go ahead as planned."
