South Africa pair Jaque Fourie and Schalk Burger are the big absentees from the Stormers team to face the Cheetahs in Cape Town on Saturday.
Both have fitness issues, with centre Fourie ruled out at the last minute due to a chest injury, while flanker Burger has a knee problem which is expected to keep him sidelined for most of March.
However, Allister Coetzee's side welcome back another Springbok, Juan De Jongh, in midfield, while Pieter Louw joins the loose forwards.
Coach Coetzee said: "Jaque has a breast bone cartilage complaint and we have decided to take the pragmatic approach by leaving him out of the team for Saturday.
"Fortunately it is not a major injury, at least it is not an injury that will keep him out for any length of time. He will be back at the start of next week and we are confident he will be ready to play against the Highlanders."
In a third change to the side, experienced fly-half Peter Grant comes in at number 10 ahead of rookie Gary Van Aswegen, while Nick Koster and Paul Bosch are the two new faces on the bench.
