Wales' Leigh Halfpenny has come to the defence of Tom Croft by confirming the England flanker did not spit at him during Saturday's RBS 6 Nations decider.
On Monday Croft was forced to deny spitting at the Wales wing during the Millennium Stadium clash after coming in for fierce criticism on social networking sites.
Halfpenny wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: "Guys, just to confirm @tomcroft6 didn't do what's being alleged of him. He's a top bloke and a great player!"
Croft himself took to Twitter to dismiss the claims on Monday, saying: "Just to clarify, I did NOT spit on @LeighHalfpenny1 during the Eng v Wal match, I think it's disgusting and has no place in the game."
Croft made his first start for England for a year following a serious neck injury in the 30-3 defeat, which earned Wales the Six Nations title and denied England the Grand Slam.
