Munster ERC probe as Ospreys face Cup axe

Munster last night confirmed that the ERC have requested paperwork on Wian du Preez's registration but are confident there is no case to answer in relation to the South African prop.

The Ospreys face possible expulsion from the Heineken Cup quarter-finals after the Welsh club revealed that the tournament organisers are investigating the eligibility of Ricky Januarie.

The scrum-half joined the Ospreys on a minimum three-month contract as required under European Rugby Cup Ltd rules but returned to South Africa to play for the Stormers after just over two months.

Du Preez was signed on a short-term deal because Marcus Horan was unavailable due to illness and played in four Heineken Cup matches.
