O'Driscoll remains on course for Euro quarter-final

Brian O'Driscoll remains on target for an April return to rugby and will meet his surgeon in the coming weeks to determine his progress.

The signs are good for the Ireland captain, who has yet to play for Leinster this season after undergoing a shoulder operation following the World Cup.

Leinster are away to Aironi this Friday before a three-week break until the end of the Six Nations, and O'Driscoll and Leo Cullen are facing a race to be fit for the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Cardiff on April 7.

Meanwhile, Luke Fitzgerald is expected to make his return to action for the province on Friday night if he can come through tomorrow's contact session at UCD.

The winger has been out of action since St Stephen's Day and has struggled to recover from a troublesome neck injury.

"Brian's progressing well. I think he's going to go and see the surgeon in the next couple of weeks to see where he's at, but as things are going he's progressing quite well," Leinster coach Jono Gibbes said. "
