Defending Super 15 champions the Highlanders handed table-toppers the Crusaders just their second loss of the season in a 34-26 success.

Waisake Naholo crossed twice and Matt Faddes once before the half-time interval to put the hosts in control, with all 12 of the leaders' first-half points coming from the boot of Richie Mo'unga.

Faddes' second try further padded the Highlanders' lead, while Liam Squire also crossed, meaning tries from Jordan Taufua and Israel Dagg came in a losing cause as the Crusaders were beaten for the first time in nine contests.
