Highlanders edge out Hurricanes

The Highlanders repeated their Grand Final victory over the Hurricanes as they took a 17-16 win in Dunedin on Saturday.

Last year's Super Rugby showpiece saw the Highlanders win by seven points, but this was closer and decided by Hayden Parker's late penalty.

Malakai Fekitoa scored the Highlanders' only try, which together with three penalties from Lima Sopoaga gave the home side a 14-6 lead during the second half. The Hurricanes battled back to steam ahead 16-14, helped by TJ Perenara's try and kicking success from Beauden Barrett, before Parker had the final say.
