Exeter completed back-to-back victories over Scarlets in Pool Five of the Heineken Cup to keep their hopes alive of at least progressing to the latter stages of the Amlin Challenge Cup.

The Scarlets recovered from 17-3 down to get back on level terms early in the second half, but a late try from James Scaysbrook sealed a 30-20 victory for the Chiefs.

Ian Whitten and Simon Alcott also went over for the hosts, with Gareth Steenson contributing 15 points.

Ken Owens and Scott Williams crossed for Scarlets - Aled Thomas adding the extras as well as two penalties.
