The Hurricanes produced a brilliant performance to thrash New Zealand rivals the Crusaders 35-10 in Christchurch and fire a warning to their fellow Super Rugby title hopefuls.

Last season's runners-up outscored their opponents five tries to one in claiming a bonus-point victory, with Jason Woodward, TJ Perenara, Willis Halaholo, Callum Gibbins and Beauden Barrett crossing for the visitors at AMI Stadium.

Seven-time champions the Crusaders - who beat the Reds 85-26 last time out - only had Ryan Crotty's first-half try and five points from Richie Mo'unga to show for their efforts as the Hurricanes blew them away after the break.
