Ireland international back Simon Zebo faces five weeks on the sideline due to injury.

Munster confirmed that Zebo suffered a fractured rib during last Saturday's Guinness PRO12 clash against the Scarlets.

Zebo could now face a battle to be fit for Munster's opening European Champions Cup fixture next month, which is against Racing 92.

Munster have also announced that hooker Kevin O'Byrne, who went on as a replacement against the Scarlets, faces three months out due to an elbow injury.
