Ireland A’s frozen out

Published 07/02/2009

Ireland A’s clash with England Saxons was called off last night due to a frozen pitch at Donnybrook.

Referee Jerome Garces made the decision a minute before the scheduled 7.35pm kick-off time on grounds of player safety.

The French official had given the go-ahead an hour before the match was due to start but by 7.34pm the teams had failed to emerge and it was announced the game was off.
