James back for Bath
Bath's hopes of prolonging their Heineken Cup campaign have been lifted by the return of Butch James for Saturday's showdown with Ulster.
James will make his first appearance of the season when the Pool Four rivals cross swords at the Recreation Ground.
The Springbok, who injured his shoulder during the Tri-Nations, lines up at half-back alongside compatriot Michael Claassens.
Bath have endured a difficult season and enter a pivotal game on the back of four successive defeats.
Their hopes of progressing from the pool were given a dramatic shot in the arm last weekend when Italian side Aironi humbled group leaders Biarritz.
But Bath must dispatch Ulster and then account for Aironi in January, potentially setting up a decisive finale against Biarritz, to keep their season alive.
"Without a doubt if we want to go through to the next stage then we have to win this match," defence and skills coach Brad Davis said.
"We will go out there and put in a performance that everyone can be proud of. Everyone is waiting for that big win and what we have got to do is keep improving our performances."
Bath led 15-3 against Ulster at Ravenhill last Saturday before succumbing to a 22-18 defeat.
