Reigning champions Leicester hit the top of the table for the first time this season as they secured their fourth league victory in a row with a 22-15 triumph at Exeter.
A record attendance for Sandy Park - 10,495 - watched the game on a cold, clear Devon evening after the capacity of 10,700 had been reduced owing to the presence of the TV cameras.
Leicester made a dream start as, after less than three minutes, Alesana Tuilagi went over, while Jordan Crane scored a try in either half.
Jeremy Staunton added five points with his boot, while replacement Toby Flood also kicked a conversion.
Exeter failed to go over the try line but Ryan Davis kept them within touching distance of the Tigers by scoring four penalties, while Gareth Steenson also added three points.
