Leicester lock Dom Barrow has received a one-week suspension and will be unavailable for Tigers' Aviva Premiership clash against Northampton on Saturday.

The Rugby Football Union said that Barrow was cited for striking an opponent during last Saturday's Premiership game between Leicester and Saracens at Allianz Park.

He is free to play again on January 12.

Barrow, 22, is in his first season with the Tigers after joining them from Newcastle.

In a statement, the RFU said: " Barrow was cited for striking an opponent in the second-half of the Premiership match between Tigers and Saracens on January 2.

"The case was heard by James Dingemans on the papers. The Tigers player is free to play again on January 12."
