Lengthy lay-off for Hunter

Edinburgh stand-off Gregor Hunter could miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury.

Edinburgh have revealed the 21-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while playing for Hawick in their RBS Premiership defeat by Glasgow Hawks on August 31.

The RaboDirect PRO12 club say Hunter, who has made 16 appearances for Edinburgh, is expected to be out for around nine months following surgery.
