Lions end Bulls winning run

Armand van der Merwe's late try helped the Lions to come from behind and end the Bulls' four-match winning streak with a 22-18 triumph.

It was the first try of a scrappy game but it proved the difference as the Lions picked up the win.

Despite the loss, the Bulls picked up a losing bonus point that was enough to move them up to third in the overall standings - leapfrogging Sharks in the process.

All of the Bulls points came courtesy of Jacques Louis Potgieter penalties and his sixth had the visitors ahead with just two minutes remaining.

But a quick tap penalty freed van der Merwe to get over the line and Elton Jantjies conversion was enough to seal the win for the Lions - who welcome the Sharks next weekend looking for consecutive home wins.
