Lions stun Chiefs with Super Rugby victory

The Lions earned their first win over the Chiefs in New Zealand as they secured a 36-32 victory in Hamilton on Saturday.

In the Super Rugby clash, the visitors from Johannesburg resisted late Chiefs pressure to take the win, which came thanks to tries from Malcolm Marx, Courtnall Skosan, captain Warren Whiteley and Ruan Combrinck, plus 16 points from the boot of fly-half Elton Jantjies.

The beaten Chiefs also scored four tries, through Tom Sanders, Damian McKenzie, James Lowe and Brad Weber, with McKenzie also booting 12 points.
