London Irish sign Gough

Aviva Premiership club London Irish have announced the signing of Wales international lock Ian Gough.

Gough won 64 Test caps during an 11-year international career, and he will move to the Madejski Stadium from the Ospreys, where he has spent the last six seasons.

The 36-year-old previously played for Pontypridd, Newport and then Newport Gwent Dragons. His last Wales appearance was in 2009.

"It's great to have a player of the stature and experience of Ian on board," Irish rugby director Brian Smith said.

"He is a proven Test forward and has been exceptional at the set-piece and the breakdown area throughout his career.

"His presence and influence around the training ground will be massive."
