England Saxons captain Luke Narraway has been ruled out of the remainder of the Churchill Cup with a back injury.
Narraway missed last Saturday's 87-8 victory over the USA after complaining of soreness in his lower back.
The problem has persisted and the Gloucester number eight has returned to his club for treatment, forcing him to sit out Sunday's clash with Tonga and finals day on June 18.
"Although the problem should settle down pretty quickly, Luke's not going to be available for the next two games," said Saxons head coach Stuart Lancaster.
"It's a shame to lose him as he's an important part of our squad and has been in good form.
"But we're confident we've got a good replacement in Jordan Crane, who led the side well against the USA."
