New deal for Hook

Wales international James Hook has signed a new long-term deal with French Top 14 club Perpignan.

Hook is in his third season at Stade Aime Giral after moving to the south of France from the Ospreys in 2011.

Hook, 28, has won 70 Test caps and toured South Africa with the 2009 British and Irish Lions, but he has now slipped down the Wales fly-half pecking order behind Dan Biggar and Rhys Priestland.

Hook made his last Wales appearance when he went on as a replacement during the RBS 6 Nations title-clinching victory over England in Cardiff earlier this year.

His new Perpignan contract, which was announced by the club at a press conference on Thursday, will see him remain in France until 2017.
