New deal for Jones

Newport Gwent Dragons rugby director Lyn Jones has agreed a new two-year deal with the Welsh region.

The Dragons announced that Jones' contract would keep him at Rodney Parade until June 2017.

Jones arrived at the Dragons from London Welsh two years ago, with the highlight of this season's campaign being a European Challenge Cup semi-final appearance.

" The first two years have been about change, but the next two will be about regaining respect in the world of rugby through consistent performances and results," Jones said.

And Dragons chief executive Stuart Davies added: " Lyn heads up an excellent all-Welsh rugby management team overseeing a very exciting squad.

"Our younger players are in great hands as we look to build on a very promising season in the years ahead, and Lyn has earned the opportunity to lead the side as we seek to further enhance a growing reputation."
