New Sale deal for Lund

Magnus Lund has signed a new two-year deal with Aviva Premiership club Sale Sharks.

Sale announced that 31-year-old flanker Lund's contract will keep him at the club until the end of the 2016-2017 season.

Lund, who won 10 caps for England, was part of Sale's Premiership title-winning squad in 2006. He is in his second spell with Sale, and has also played for French club Biarritz.

"I was delighted to sign Magnus in the summer, and he has fitted in perfectly with the squad," Sale rugby director Steve Diamond said.

"Magnus has played in 20 games this season, and his consistent performances attracted the interest of two other Premiership clubs looking to try and sign him.

"Thankfully, he has signed a new deal with us for the next two years."
