Newport Gwent Dragons snap up Zane Kirchner for next season

Newport Gwent Dragons have announced the signing of South Africa international back Zane Kirchner.

The 32-year-old will move to the Dragons from their Guinness PRO12 rivals Leinster for next season, having spent four years in Ireland.

Kirchner, who has played full-back, wing and centre, won the last of his 31 Test caps when South Africa were beaten by Japan in the 2015 World Cup.

Dragons head coach Kingsley Jones said: "Zane's experience on and off the field will be invaluable for this young squad.

" He is a great addition to our young back line, and I believe he will bring a much-needed voice in the backs to help these youngsters with their development."
